Clothing and Equipment
The short lists below contain essential items for a day in the hills. A list of optional items would be endless. But never forget that every ounce has a price which is paid in effort and energy with every step.

The number of the relevant map for each walk, in the OS Landranger 1:50000 series, is given in the walks programme.
Do not worry if you are not an expert at navigating using a map and compass. There will be ample opportunities to learn from experienced club members.
